The WORD of today

God is always in Control

“And now, do not be distressed and do not be angry with yourselves for selling me here, because it was to save lives that God sent me ahead of you.”  Genesis 45: 5

Joseph was sold by his brothers to Egypt.  After a few years, Joseph became ruler of all Egypt.  God spoke to Joseph and let him know that there would be seven years of plentiful harvest and then seven years of famine.  Joseph did has God commanded and stored food the first seven years to prepare for the seven years of famine.  Joseph is reunited with his brothers when they have to come to Egypt to buy food for their father and family.  Joseph tells his brothers to bring his father and family to live in Egypt where they received the very best the land had to offer.

Only God can turn a horrible situation by having jealous brothers consider killing Joseph and eventually chose to sell him as a slave to Egypt into a life saving situation.  Even when we feel horrible circumstances all around us, nothing is going my way, God is in Control and turn the situation into something GREAT, but only when we listen and obey His Word.

Each one of us will be tempted

“When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.”  For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; but each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed.  Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.”  James 1: 13-15

Only the Word of God can protect us from temptation.  It will never be enough to know a few versus here and there.  We must read and know what the Word of God says.  Satan attempted to use God’s Word to tempt Jesus.  Jesus obviously was not tempted because He knows the full Word of God.  We tend to learn versus that we like and quote them to others, like how God will Bless you in all we do.  But you have to know the verse just above that one that lay out the conditions to receive God’s Blessing.  Let’s start today learning God’s Word so we will no longer be tempted.

We will be tempted by the Devil

Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the desert to be tempted by the devil.”  Mathew 4:1

Notice who led Jesus into the desert to be tempted, The Spirit of God.  We will find ourselves being tempted by satan all of our lives.  The good news is God is with us at all times assuring we will never be in a situation we cannot handle.  As the Spirit of God led Jesus into temptation, He will also lead you and me into temptations.  Just like a heavy weight boxer, training is required to get stronger and better prepared to deal with the struggles we will face.  God has equipped us with everything we need to protect ourselves from the sinful temptations that come our way.  To learn how to use the tools in which we are provided, we should spend much time in prayer with a loving God desiring we stay strong as we await the time of our Lord Jesus’ return.

Be Angry, for the right reason

“And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers’ money, and overthrew the tables.”   John 2:12-14

Obviously, Jesus had to be angry to take such actions.  Although Jesus was angry, he was not angry at the people.  Jesus was angry at satan for moving the children of God to take their eyes away from Him.  Anger is good when used to protect against the desires of satan and sin that will become.  God’s word is clear that we should not allow anger to be directed towards another child of God or in a way to move ones eyse off the desires of God.

Believe You Will Receive

“Therefore I say to you, all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them, and they will be granted you.” Mark 11:24

How great it is to be a child of God! I have two wonderful sons that are now teenagers. Anyone that has or has had teenagers know that we do not need to tell them anything. They already know everything and in their minds, their mother and dad seem to know the very least about any situation they are dealing with. I remember as a teenager myself my parents telling me that they know the things I am going through and how to best handle the situation. I never believed them and thought I could handle all situations on my own or at least better than Mom and Dad.

Gosh, now that I look back in time, life could have been so much easier if I would have just asked my parents, the ones that love and pray for the very best for me, how to handle the situations I am dealing with. The same is true with our Heavenly Father. Who knows better how to handle all situations? Our Heavenly Father says all we have to do is pray and believe that we will receive, and it will be granted.

Our Heavenly Father is a LOVING God and only wants the best for his children. We only need to understand that we cannot achieve Success on our own. We must know God’s purpose in our life, ask for what we need and believe we will receive. How awesome is our God!!

When will we have Success?

“This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success”. Joshua 1:8

What more can I say, Joshua said it all. AMEN!

My Purpose…

“And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28

One of the toughest questions I get as a Real Estate Instructor is this; “Can I be successful as a real estate agent?” If I have learned anything from teaching real estate, it is that I cannot predict who will be successful selling real estate. I have also learned that I am not the one to ask. Before we make decisions concerning careers, problems, our family, or anything else, we must determine if the decision will meet God’s purpose for our life. In other words, we must learn to ask God if a career in real estate, or anything else we are considering, will be according to God’s purpose. If God points you into real estate, all things (including real estate) will work together for good to those that love God.

Seek God’s purpose for you life. That is the only way to be sure you will make the right decision. Never question you ability to achieve God’s purpose. Nothing can stand in your way! “If God is for us, who is against us? Romans 8:31b

God will make us successful if we perform all we do according to God’s purpose. If we have any other purpose, we will never achieve SUCCESS!
